Sundial answers one question well: if I buy this now, what breaks later? Point it at your accounts and it projects the next ninety days as a single line, then lets you drop a hypothetical purchase anywhere on that line and watch the shape change.

Budgeting apps are archaeology. They tell you, in beautiful pie charts, what you already did. That is useful roughly once a month and painful the rest of the time. Sundial only looks forward, and it refuses to categorise anything, because nobody has ever avoided an overdraft by knowing that 12 percent of March went to restaurants.

Still a concept. I have the projection engine working on my own accounts and a very ugly prototype. Looking for the first fifty people who will tell me honestly whether the forward view is worth switching for.
